BIRTH REGISTRATION

BIRTH REGISTRATION:

1. Take Birth Certificate from hospital/local authority.

2. Take Apostle and English Translation of birth certificate if it is not in English.

3. Register birth online at Ministry of Home Affairs website: Section - Services - Indian Citizenship Online - Click on the last row: Registration of birth of a minor child at an Indian Consulate Under section 4(1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955.

Apply, upload documents, submit, and take print.

4. Visit Embassy of India after taking appointment by telephone call with documents:

  1. Birth Certificate with Apostile & English Translation if it is not in English,
  2. Copy of Indian Passports of both the parents,
  3. Copy of the Certificate of Indian Citizenship of parents if acquired by Registration/Naturalization,
  4. Copy of the marriage certificate of the parents,
  5. Declaration letter that the child does not hold the passport of any other country,
  6. Copy of the Visa/Resident Permit of parents,
  7. 2 Passport size photographs of baby, Fees - 2400 RSD, print of online application submitted at MHA website.
