 The Embassy of India in Belgrade celebrated Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day on 4 November 2022. Besides senior officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other government departments and media person, a large number of ITEC alumni attended the event.

2. In his address at the celebration, Indian Ambassador H. E. Mr. Sanjiv Kohli, gave an overview of the ITEC programme which covers over 300 training courses of different duration in premier training institutes of India to over 160 friendly foreign countries since 1964.

3. Serbia is one of the ITEC partner countries and since 2008, 167 Serbian mid-level career professionals have undergone courses on a wide and diverse range of skills and disciplines, including in ICT, Expenditure Management, Entrepreneurship, WTO, Banking & Finanance, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Legislative Drafting, Yoga, English proficiency etc. Further, 13 Serbian diplomats have also taken courses on diplomacy in India. Serbian military officers are also availing UN Peacekeeping  raining courses in India. Hence, India has been contributing in its own way, to capacity building in Serbia. e-ITEC has also been introduced to further increase the outreach to a larger audience. All expenditure including the international air passages, boarding and lodging in respect of selected candidates are borne by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

4. On the occasion, three ITEC alumni also shared their experience of visiting India and attending the ITEC training programme.
