Ambassador’s farewell call on President of the Republic of Serbia

H.E. Narinder Chauhan, Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, made a farewell call on Hon’ble Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Republic of Serbia today.

President Vucic underscored that Serbia-India relations are characterized by mutual respect and support in core issues. He stressed the importance of the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries and expressed gratitude for India’s continued support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

President Vucic appreciated Ambassador’s diplomatic skills & work dedication and emphasized that her exceptional efforts have resulted in substantial improvement of overall relations between the two friendly countries. Recalling his successful visit to India in 2017, President Vucic mentioned that India’s economic and technological development is remarkable. He expressed hope that the forthcoming high level visit from India to Serbia will contribute to further enhancement of bilateral relations, both through political dialogue and economic cooperation. President Vucic noted that progress in the bilateral relations is also reflected by the arrival of Indian company TAFE in the Serbian market through acquisition of the Serbian tractor manufacturing company IMT in April this year.

Ambassador expressed hope that the improved business environment in Serbia would lead to increased Indian investment in Serbia. She pointed out that during her stay in Serbia she was accorded immense support and assistance by Serbian state institutions, and was well received with open doors everywhere in Serbia.
